Vale Southard

Membership and Grants Manager

Vale Southard has a background in music education and performance science. She spent five years as a general music and chorus teacher for the Public Schools of Brookline in Massachusetts, while also acting as a musicianship teacher for the Handel and Haydn Society’s Youth Choruses. In addition to her experience in music education, she has held various administrative roles in both the corporate and higher education sectors. Vale graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami with a bachelor of music in music education. She also holds a master of science in performance science from the Royal College of Music, London. Her master’s dissertation focused on the experience of musicians and surgeons who participated together in a joint musical and surgical simulation event. Vale resides in the Boston area, where she has sung with various choruses, including the Oriana Consort and Metropolitan Chorale.
