October Project was named a two-time winner in the 44th Annual Telly Awards which honors excellence in video and television across all screens. They earned a Gold Telly award in the category of Social Video-Virtual Events & Experiences for the Worldwide Choir version of their globally-renowned hit song “Return to Me” which was sung by a virtual choir comprised of 130 singers from 18 countries.
Their second win was a Silver Telly award in the category of General-Online Music Video for their song “Angels in the Garden” which was a reimagined visual-music collaboration with Ukraine’s Got Talent-winning sand artist, Kseniya Simonova.
This year’s awards theme was “Break Through The Static” which had a goal of highlighting content that cut through the noise of so much content created and published in today’s digital world. It is a record-breaking year for the Tellys, with over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.
Two years ago the group received a Bronze Telly for its first virtual choir of JOY which was created early in COVID to counteract the darkness of that time; that project included 163 performers including a virtual marching band.
“We’re so happy to win an award that includes such talented creators,” says October Project writer/producer Julie Flanders, referring to the impressive list of entries from such household names as BET, Disney, HBO, NASA and Netflix as well as independent production houses and agencies.
Marina Belica, October Project producer/vocalist, whose lead vocals grace both tracks, agrees, “We’re so grateful as independent artists to be acknowledged alongside such powerhouse colleagues!”
