Phoenix Chorale/Kansas City Chorale Collaboration Earns Grammy Nod

The collaborative recording of "Rachmaninoff: All-Night Vigil," featuring the combined forces of Chorus America members the Phoenix Chorale and the Kansas City Chorale, conducted by Charles Bruffy, was awarded the 2016 Grammy for Best Choral Performance on Monday, Febuary 15. This marks the second time each ensemble - both of which are led by Bruffy - has won the award. The recording was also nominated for Best Engineered Album, Classical.

Other notable winners in the choral community on Monday included the members of a cappella group Pentatonix - who also performed on the live television broadcast - for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella ("Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy"), and the late Stephen Paulus, who received his first Grammy awards for Best Contemporary Classical Composition ("Prayers and Rememberances," performed by Chorus America members True Concord Voices and Orchestra) and Best Classical Compendium ("Three Places of Enlightenment; Veil of Tears & Grand Concerto").
